CLASS DETAILS & INFORMATION

STUDIO YOGA

Barwon Heads Yoga studio classes are small intimate groups run in my home studio space here in the coastal town of Barwon Heads. Classes are an invitation to seek  where life gives us space – early mornings before the world awakens or early evening as the sun winds down for the day.  These are story infused, flowing and playful practices which draw on a variety of eastern and western medical traditions. Creating an open space to be strong with where we are at and to be clear with where we are going. A lot of laughs as we remember how to be fully alive to the potential of possibility. Inspiring us to trust in the process of ourselves, our loved ones and each other.

Class size limited to 12 participants and all equipment is provided.

Classes are all physiotherapy-led and include yoga, mindful movement, meditation and clinical mat pilates

Health provider rebates may apply.

YOGA ON THE RIVER

Every Summer the Barwon Heads Yoga studio space moves outside to the gentle banks of the Barwon Heads River. Here beside the iconic Barwon Heads Bridge, we stand before the rising sun and where the river meets the sea. The slow dance of the colours in the currents makes a spectacular back-drop to bend, breathe and be.

Join Fleur Kilpatrick and I as we open ourselves to the fullness of each rising sun. After connecting to a quieter place within, it’s a quick walk over to the main street of our idyllic seaside village where you can try breakfast at any of the brilliant  Barwon Heads cafes or Summer hipster food vans.

Classes run from daily from Boxing day (December 26th) to Australia Day and then every weekend until Easter. Meet at 8:00am on the sand opposite the Barwon Heads River park)

BYO mat / towel / hat / sunnies / swimmers (complimentary swim post bend)

CLINICAL PILATES

Physiotherapy led, clinical mat pilates weaves specific mindfulness movement sequences to strengthen awareness of our deep postural abdominal and spine muscles.

The Barwon Heads Yoga clinical pilates classes are specifically designed to develop strength and awareness of our subtle core muscles of the body. Each class is rehabilitative and goal focused with sequences working on normalising movement patterns, correcting neuromuscular timing and balancing neural pathomechanics. In short: classes invite awareness of our body mechanics from within. Once focused, we progress this segmental stability into functional movement patterns.

Reminding us of the intelligence the body holds when it is connected to the wisdom of the breath.

My mat pilates classes weave strong physical alignment and evidence based practice within the tapestry of eastern tantric teachings. This creates a dynamic and playful practice which celebrates the process of ourselves rather than the product of what we think we should become.

Classes run for an hour and 15 minutes and health care rebatable with physiotherapy assessment and treatment plan.
